SCHOLARSHIPS

MLAC Scholarship consists of an up to 50% reduction of MLAC dues.

The actual amount of scholarship is determined after receiving all requests from families at the start of the season, with amount calculation dictated by total funds available as seen in the MLAC annual budget and funded to each request based on demonstrated need. MLAC does reserve the right to terminate any and all scholarship assistance at any point during the fiscal year due to an extreme financial crisis of the club. MLAC will give a 30-day notification to the recipient before removal of scholarship assistance.

For competitive team members (Age Group, Junior, Senior groups):

• Families are charged according to the same installment plan schedule as members (for 2025-2026 season, nine (9) installments).

• Swimmers must remain in good standing with the program. Violations to the Code of
  Conduct and bullying policies (i.e. unsportsmanlike conduct and/or conduct detrimental to
  MLAC) by either recipient and/or family shall be grounds for removal of financial assistance.

• Swimmer(s) are expected to commit to the practice standards set by the coach of the
  roster group of the swimmer(s).

• ​Family Service Obligations are not reduced.

• Any and all swimmer equipment (suits, goggles, fins, etc), meet entry fees, meet travel costs and fees, and USA Swimming Athlete membership are fully the financial responsibility of the family, as with other members.

For Youth LTS programs, Adult LTS programs, Youth Developmental group, and Summer Piranhas, families are charged a reduced amount at registration. Families should not register before being approved for scholarship. 

• Approval is based on a first-come, first-served basis for all those who have submitted a completed application.

• Applications requires documentation of Proof of Financial Need:

  • Free/Reduced Lunch verification letter from school district ​

  • Eligibility letter for CHIP, SNAP, SSDI, or similar program
