YOUTH COMPETITIVE GROUPS
Developmental
PREREQUISITES
- Swimmers should be able to complete one full length of the pool in both freestyle and backstroke without stopping.
- Participants must have passed Level 5 or receive prior approval before registering.
Fall 2026 Session:
1 or 2x/week on Monday and/or Tuesday
6:30 - 7:15 PM (8 and under) or
7:15 PM - 8PM (9 and up)
Dates/Times for the Winter session coming soon.
FOCUS AREAS
-
Swim 25 yards of freestyle repeatedly with proper technique, and good rhythmic breathing
-
Swim 25 yards of continuous backstroke with proper technique
-
Refine stroke technique across all focus areas, including breaststroke and butterfly, starts and turns
-
Increase endurance through 45 minute practices.
AGE GROUP 1
PREREQUISITES
-
Legal in at least three strokes
-
Has times for 50 FR, 50 BK, and 25 BR or FL
-
Executes streamline position while kicking
-
Executes sitting/kneeling dive / compact & shallow angle dive
-
Understanding of proper turn mechanics

Executes a competitive racing start

Executes flipturn / open turn in practices and meets
