FAMILY SERVICE
MLAC is a parent-run organization which heavily relies on families in addition to the professional staff to help run the day-to-day business and host meets and events throughout the year. Each member family is obligated to contribute to maintain the fiscally sound operations that enable our positive environment for each and every athlete.
OVERVIEW
Family Service is the responsibility of each member family to be actively involved in the operations of our club. Having individuals serve in the variety of roles enables our club to host competitive opportunities for our own athletes, have social activities for our members, and provide educational, hands-on learning for families on the behind the scenes operations of the sport.
Family Service is measured in credits, which is calculated as a shift (typically, 3-5 hours in length, as standard from a swim meet session). Family Service credits are not calculated by actual/total clock hours.

Should a member family fail to earn the specified credits within a registration year, they will be charged a rate of $125 per credit unfulfilled, which must be paid in full prior to registering for the next season. MLAC will invoice charges to member accounts once opportunities for the current season have passed.
CREDITS
The obligation of each member family is determined by their oldest swimmer’s training group. Families with multiple swimmers have only to complete the requirement for their oldest swimmer’s training group. MLAC utilizes a credit system to calculate and track obligations. A credit does not equal cumulative clock hours; rather, a credit is equal to one (1) individual fulfilling one (1) shift.

For the 2025-2026 season, the following is the assigned allotment organized by group level:

Senior, Junior, Age Group // six (6) total credits, with a maximum of one (1) Admin credit and one (1) In-Kind Credit

Families w/ only swimmer in the Senior group in HS Class of 2026 // three (3) total credits, with a maximum of one (1) Admin credit and one (1) In-Kind Credit

Developmental, applicable to the first session of enrollment // one (1) Admin credit
